Privacy
Draft for review. Last updated 6 October 2026.
isithot.today is built to need as little about you as possible. There are no accounts and we do not sell personal data.
Location
- Approximate location. When you open the site, our hosting provider (Netlify) estimates a rough location from your IP address so we can show a forecast straight away. We use the town and coordinates to look up the weather. We do not store your IP address with them.
- Device location. Only if you allow it in your browser. Your coordinates are rounded to about 5 km (0.05°) in your browser before they are sent to us, and we never log them alongside your IP address.
- Searches. Place names you search for are sent to our forecast provider, Open-Meteo, to find matching places. Popular searches are cached for a week.
What stays on your device
Your browser's local storage keeps your last chosen place, your °C/°F choice and the last answer so the page appears instantly next time. This never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Who else processes data
- Netlify hosts the site and processes requests, including IP addresses, to serve pages.
- Open-Meteo receives the rounded coordinates of the forecast grid cell (not your IP address) when our cache does not already have a forecast for it.
- NASA POWER receives the coordinates of a 50 km climate grid cell.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies or personal identifiers, if enabled.
- Google AdSense shows one advert, only after you have made a choice in the consent banner where the law requires it. See our cookie notice.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Because we do not keep personal data tied to you, there is usually nothing to find. Contact: [contact email to be added].
